I was never a big fan of MGS to start with, but slowly with MGS3 I liked the system. I'm going to buy MGS3 Subsistence for the camera and maybe I play the old school MG.

Just look at it, I know I'm late and this was out a year ago but we never discussed it here. I liked Raiden better than Snake, but being the next Gray Fox is a little bad. Still that movie is awesome, just the graphics... oh man I just have to get a PS3 when one of the major games come out (Final Fantasy).

Anyway I in MGS they brought back gray fox, in MGS2 they did it, good thing not in MGS3, but now Raiden? I kinda expected it.. His dodge move and the sword and ninja VR missions kinda spoiled it.

Like in Final Fantasy they tried to make a villain like Sephiroth and failed. I just hope it won't fail in MGS. I hope Raiden will be totally different. But I guess we have to wait till end 2007 beginning 2008!

And the main theme from MGS2:

The graphics look frightenly great!

I never know what to expect from those preview videos. They show you so little actually in terms of storyline. And it's been like that with each MGS before.

The environment looks like it's in the Middle East somewhere. But it could be misleading.

I don't know what to think of Raiden... Well I'm sure the game will tell us why he has become the way he his. I'm not sure yet whether I like is new ninja look or not...
By the way, is it just me or some characters gotta be really old in MGS4! If Snakes is old enough to have white hair, that means Colonnel Campbell must be at least 100 years old!

As in the previous MGS, the question is still open, that is to know which character will we play with? Previous videos of MGS4 lead to think that Snake would be the main character, but we could get surprises. Maybe we'll swicht from a character to another, like in MGS2.

I'm a big fan of the MGS series, but I can't say if I'll ever have a chance to play the fourth. Although I'd really like too someday...

Snake and his other brothers have an aging problem. I remember Grey Fox in MGS1 made a comment about Snake not aging well. And it is most likely Snake suffers from FOX-DIE too -> Naomi Hunter is back.

They wanted to make Raiden cooler, because a lot of people hated Raiden (While I like Raiden better than Snake, he looks like Liquid my fav. MGS bad guy). And Konami crew knew a lot of people loved Grey Fox. And in MGS2 he seemed a little like a ninja to me with his dodge move and the blade he get's.

I like the way Hidious Kojima shows very little of the storyline, I'm curious about MGS4 but I don't want it spoiled. For what the story is, who we play as or multiple characters, about Raiden. We just have to wait, but as far as I can see the story will be very deep like the previous MGS games.

The deep story seems real to me, even though it's fictional you can learn a lot from it. That's what I like the best in the MGS series.

Oh yeah I also want to get MGS: Portable Ops for the PSP, I'm not sure how it works yet, but you can play as young Ocelot, Snake, EVA. But it seems pretty cool.

Here are a lot of clearups:

200X - Due to faults in the cloning process, Snake's cells begin deteriorating
at a rapid rate.
2015 - Restrictions on military intervention in foreign countries ease up,
creating high demand for mercenaries. Many PMCs (private military
companies) are established.
- Liquid takes advantage of this military boom and reestablishes Outer
Heaven to be an overseer of the five biggest PMCs.
- Liquid creates a giant army equal in power to the US's armed forces.
- The UN locates Liquid in the Middle East and Snake is recruited to
infiltrate the new Outer Heaven and take Liquid out. (events of Guns
of the Patriots).

See the Metal Gear Series for more about the previous MG's. Also contains Portable OPS spoilers.

Thanks for the links, some are real nice.

Well, that prepares the grounds for another great story. I can't wait to learn more.

Could you tell me a little more about Guns of the Patriot (just a couple of lines to set up the context) and maybe how it relates to the previous MGS and the next one. Because the way things are going, I won't get my hands on a PSP soon...

PS3 you mean? Or if you are talking about Portable OPS, I posted a link to a full video walkthrough. I watched all cutscenes, you can recruit people there and switch between 5 people you recruited.
The game explains how Big Boss became 'evil' and how he got the idea of outer heaven.

I don't know much about MGS4:GoP myself and rather keep it that way. I don't want to be spoiled, I guess I have to wait until 2008.

No time left today to comment on this awesome game, but I'll be around a lot more from now on.
