In order to keep the presentation of the forum convenient, avatars must be kept to reasonnable dimensions. For avatars that you upload in the forum, an error message will appear if your image exceeds in:
Size: 100 KB (=100 000 bytes)
Height: 500 pixels
Width: 120 pixels
For avatars linked from external websites, the dimensions requirerments are the same (height and width), but the size is free.
