Great, I was hoping there was a way. I suppose it doesn’t make that much difference, but it’s always good to know that I can do it whenever I want to.

I’m back home now so I can finish the Omega Strain (I’ve been busy lately), only a few missions left to do.

Damn it's getting hard, the Tokyo mission was crazy.
Having to take out a psycho with a mini-gun is quite challenging to say the least.
The Myanmar mission was also hard compared to most of the other levels, but they were both exhilarating missions though.

Yeah, that Ryusaki guy can be a pain in the neck. The easiest way against him is explosives. It kills him instantaneously and you'll still be able to grab his flak jacket (which will be very useful when you try to beat the level with 0 death).

You'll soon come across one of my favourite mission: Zurich. If you haven't done it yet, I won't tell you any spoilers. I'll simply say that it can be either very easy or tough as hell! It all depends on you!

That’s the next mission, I about to have dinner and then get stuck into it. But not before I read all the Zeus files (mate they are awesome aren’t they).

I must thank everyone for not typing any spoilers in this topic because if there is one thing that I would have to hate in this world, it would be spoilers. I did learn about some Anton Girdeux style boss when I read a review some time ago, but I don’t know anything else about him/her because I avoid spoilers like the plague.

Last night I attained all the rankings (I wanted to do it before I got to the last level) and it has made the game so much easier in some respects, for example; the Nerve Gas, M79, M82 ‘Light Fifty’ BFG and the E.P.D.D make some levels exceptionally easy (taking out a sniper in a tree with the E.P.D.D from miles away instead of battling it out with him is much easier).

I played the Zurich and Montenegro missions last night, Zurich was easy but it did take me a few plays before I finished it with no deaths.
Montenegro was a different story though, at first I thought I had a No Collateral Damage Parameter so I ran around taking guards down non-lethally with the E.P.D.D. for about an hour. Then I fried one guy and realized I hadn’t failed any objectives, so I then ran around and gave everyone a head shot which made the level much easier.

Yeah, that's sort of confusing. Gabe says he won't take out any guards lethally. But it's actually not a parameter, as you noticed. Montenegro probably is the toughest stealth mission, because there are so many tricky spots where a little mistake will spoil everything.
If you want a quick tip though (maybe for the next time you play it): enemies wear flak jackets in that level, making the use of the taser a lot more difficult. Although you can also use your VSS since collateral is not a parameter, the taser sometimes work better in some places. Moreoever (although I'm not 100% sure), I think the VSS will take two body shots to take out an armored enemy. If it is indeed the case, it would mean that you wouldn't have a choice but headshot every enemy (which isn't a big challenge, but still sometimes it could make a difference). Well, if you do get kill once, the next time you start the mission, the enemies won't wear flak jackets anymore. As of now, no explanations have been found concerning this, but I know that the same thing will happen in Italy (although in this level you can only use the neck snap, so flak jackets do not change anything).

Ok I have now completed Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain and I must say it has been one of the best gaming experiences of my life. Earning ranks, medals, commendations and ratings have been remarkably entertaining. Spending ten minutes reading Zeus files before playing a mission was also very riveting.

I am very happy that I was able to hack the game to see the proper ending the first time I completed the last level too, very happy indeed. I didn’t know there was more that one ending until after I had completed it, for example; in the one-player ending Niculescu lives, in the multi-player ending he dies. I was extremely happy that I got the proper ending instead of the one-player ending.

I must dedicate a paragraph to the music..... I can’t seem to find the right words to describe how much I like the music in this game, it’s absolutely fantastic. To me the music of a computer game is very important to the overall feel of the game. TOS excels when it comes to the music of some levels (Tokyo & Yemen1). Even the music for the Zeus files and the level select screen was magnificent.

Overall I would give this game a score of 8 out of 10, it lost a point for all the bloody glitches and bugs (the game crashed on me at the intro CG a couple of times) and it also lost a point because you have to play online to completely finish everything (I was absolutely furious about this, but I have gotten over it now). So in the end this is one of the best games I have ever played, it would almost make my top ten, so it would probably come in at about number 12 or 13 for me.

I don't think you need multiplayer to see the ending video in which Niculescu gets killed (or did he?...). I think this video depends on whether or not you've put the virus in the mainframe computer in Zurich.

I've also been a fan of the SF music since the first game and I do appreciate TOS music as well. Mark Snow is the guy who composed it. For those who didn't know, he was also the music composer for the X-Files television series.
As a musician and a student in composition, I'm always deeply interested in music in video games and movies. The music for TOS isn't quite the best I've heard for a video game, although as I said, I do appreciate it a lot (enough to have recored them all on my PC!). Almost every cue was composed fallowing the same structure, which means although all musics may bring different atmosphere, it gets somehow repetitive. Also, like the large majority of video games, music was done with midi technology instead of acoustic orchestra (for obvious reasons...). Although the sounds used by Snow were among the best I've heard so far (he must also have spent a lot of time on programmation), it's still not the same as real instruments.

Aha. Now I understand your quote/sig, you’re studying music.

I have a question: who ordered Niculescu’s death?

Well you never know if they really died. As most people say, you can not confirm someone dead unless you see the body. But then still Teresa was alive :P

Yeah but someone wanted him killed and I can't think of anyone who would want him dead other than a business partner (that's if he had any).

I think one of the terrorist organisations that Mara used in TOS.

Hmm maybe, I just don't know.

I have another question: I have unlocked the ‘Headshot Lock’ but I haven’t noticed any difference when using the headshot. So what exactly does this ability do?
