In fact I didn't do it because I felt an urge to play Subsistence. I rather scratched my MGS3 DVD and it won't play anymore. I turned my PS2 on with the MGS3 DVD in, and as I accidentaly puller my controller to far the the console fell. It's not even that high from the ground, it's maybe a foot high. Even more, it fell mostly on my foot, so I took most of the damage! Yet that was enough to cause scratches that now prevent the game from running normaly. Actually, what it does is that it can't play any voices. So each time there are voices to be heard (and I don't need to tell you how often it is!), the game freezes.

I was kinda of upset because I have a little more time this week and wanted to go through MGS3 since it's been a long time I didn't play. So, I immediately went on Amazon and checked for used copies of MGS3. Now I remember how you guys praised Subsistence in that it was better than the original Snake Eater. Well a Snake Eater copy was sold on Amazon for $11 CDN, whereas the cheapest Subsistence copy was $35. I hesitated for a few minutes there, because I'm not big on mony these days. You'll be pleased to know that I opted for the later. I just hope my copy will be delivered before the end of the week so I can enjoy it a little before I go back to school.

At least you've got a little break this week. And for the next ones you may also want to try the Ace Combat series.

Good for you Gabe Logan! You did the right thing buying Subsistence.

Its great playing Snake Eater again with the new Camera View, its so much less frustrating.

As well as the many features that were exlusive to the PAL Snake Eater are thrown in.

Also please give the 2D Metal Gears a chance. They are part of the Canon and are highly enjoyable.

P.S. Hope your foot gets better.

I was actually looking forward to play the 2 MG games. I know they are pretty old, but I've always wanted to learn more about the past stories that MGS makes so many references to.

The new camera and the MG games are mostly the main reasons that pushed me to spend an extra $25 for Subsistence.

MGS looks nice but I am very poor at fast shooting games.

I didn't exactly like Substinence =/

I liked MGS2 the best, mainly cause it brings back good memories, and it was the first MGS I played =]

Well that's funny because it is exactly what makes me like MGS3. The environment has more life to it (both litteraly and figuratively) and seems wider.

But I like MGS2 just as well, it's just that the environment there is more of the same. In terms of diversity it is not a revolution, but I like that you live most of the game trapped in a closed environment.

Ya, the environment in MGS2 is WAY easier to control than MGS3. 'The End' boss fight was horrible for me! Took me like 3 hours because, I couldn't find the damn guy =[

You gotta see this PS3 (in french) :

This PS3 MGS4 Edition has been sold about $15,000 on eBay a couple of days ago.

Wow... who would buy that? I mean, I wouldn't pay even if they released a syphon filter edition console, no matter how much I like SF. Some people really have a lot of money to spare...

But I must say it looks really cool though.

The money was supposed to go to poor people I think so this way you know you pay for something useful.

If this is the case, it's a nice initiative by Sony.

I remeber see that on the Junker HQ forum (I have no life) and fell off my chair. The number of bidders! And the size of the bids! You could buy two new Toyota Corollas for that!

But you get more then just the PS3. You also get a normal PS3 and various Metal Gear Solid stuff.

No one can lie that wouldn't want a Syphon Filter PS3? It wouldn't go for that much as the Metal Gear Solid one.

I will build it myself! Get the creator of Syphon Filter........ummm.....I want to say George?

What ever his name is, I will get him to sign it.

John Garvin I think. That would certainly be cool, but as you say I wouldn't pay as much even though I like SF like crazy.

Yep, you're right :
http://www.johngarvin.com/

And you got the good guy to design a PS3 too. The only thing left before your project gets realized is... money.

So what do you think Gabe, was it worth the extra cash for Subsistence?

Well actually I haven't received the game yet. I'm starting to wonder if there was a problem with the delivery system. They say I should expect my order to be delivered between somewhere in October to November 10. So I still have a few days to wait before it means that my order has a problem.
