That will be the reason I'll buy HD-TV and a PS3. I also found a channel that has ALL Metal Gear including all extra's like the Metal Gear Saga (Which is a great recap before playing MGS4). And he will be doing MGS4 too. Great for people who don't plan to buy a PS3.

Yeah that game is a reason why I would like to get a PS3. But it's still to expensive for me, so I'll have to go to a friend's place to try it.

Mate, my thoughts exactly.

My cousin got all that for GTAIV, I can go without for that game but I will not miss out on MGS4... No way in hell!

Yeah... Unfortunately I just bought a new car with my brother, so money isn't flowing on my side.

Me too!

I just bought a new car and my budget has taken a big hit because of it. My old car was far too old though (1982 Series 1 Nissan/Datsun Bluebird), so I’m not really complaining (too much).

Yeah, mine was a Toyota Corolla '98. Not a bad car, but the previous owner had omitted a few repairs so we recently went to a mechanic who told us that the repairs to do would cost more than what the car was worth. So we decided to invest in a new car instead (nice Honda Civic '04).

So all of this goes to say that the PS3 will have to wait, but I'll still keep me informed of the some releases I've been waiting for a long time!

It's out now! I'm watching the cutscenes and man they are so awesome. The music is a bit lacking though but the voice acting, scenes and story is top notch so far :D

I wouldn't expect any less from that series.

Woa! GameSpot gave it a 10 out of 10!

And it's really worth a 20, it seems much better than GTA4 too. You can watch the scenes on the same channel that's on my 1st post.

Since I'm not getting a PS3 soon I decided to watch the scenes, since MGS is more movie than playing I didn't mind. At least you can watch the intro.

Yeah my cousin has it, so I’ve played the first 20 to 30 minutes of the game. I refused to go any further because I want to wait until I get it for myself.

It certainly is better than GTA4! I don't like the GTA series, so...

You can't say that before you play both games. GTA4 is totally different, and has a main character you actually care about his background story. You can be a 'good' guy, kinda like Snake. You have to make choices that affect the story, such as killing or sparing people. GTA4 might be worth a shot, even for you.

There are also common complaints about MGS4, such as serious lack of gameplay. The previous games had that but in the last few acts you barely play at all. I'm serious you have 30 minutes or cutscenes and 5-10 minutes of gameplay, then to have a scene of an hour. There not many bosses and they are seriously poorly done, except a few. As usual they are as unrealistic like every most bosses in the MGS universe.

It has a slow start but it will pick up very soon, but Hideo Kojima really has serious problems with explaining stuff. He made things just not needed long while some things can be explained in 1 sentence he does it in 10 minutes! You can also only call 2 people on the Codec.. And in the last few acts there are no human soldiers, but just black creatures.

That aside, the story is excellent. The voice acting is top notch, the scenes are very cool and the graphics are awesome. There is little gameplay, but the gameplay you have is really good, CQC didn't improve much compared to MGS3, you have camo but healing wounds like in MGS3 has been removed and the traditional Rations are used to heal.

For story I'd play MGS4, for gameplay I'd play Syphon Filter or GTA4.

Certainly that GTA4 must be a great game, if so many people like it. Still, this series just doesn't get to me. I've tried Vice City and San Andreas (my brother owns both), but I just stopped having fun after about an hour. And it's not the genre that I dislike either, because one of my favourite games of all time is Mafia (which is basically a GTA 70 put back 70 years ago and without the teen-level humor).

Yeah Mafia is really good, a 2nd game is on the way! Great story, and a bit shocking ending but it's a good ending since he died old.

I like shocking ending, although they... shock me. It's at least different from the classic blockbuster happy ending.

Mafia had a tremendously good storyline and the game itself created a fascinating atmosphere. I can't wait to see what Mafia 2 will be like.
